In 2019, I created (filmed, directed, edited) 'Baque', a documentary exploring the immigrant experience in Lisbon. The title, a Brazilian Portuguese word for a sudden, surprising event or feeling, perfectly encapsulates the profound shift of leaving one's home for a new life. When I was an immigrant in Lisbon myself, I felt compelled to share the stories of others who, like me, sought a better life but often encountered the harsh realities of prejudice and lack of oopportunities.

This film is a deeply personal reflection on the emotional journey of displacement and the universal human desire for belonging and dignity.
